Why did you leave?

Without saying goodbye.

Your life truly mattered, did you forget all the reasons why?

Did you feel so alone that the emptiness hurt?

because numbing the pain, really didn't work.

You had so many choices, with a bright future ahead.

Instead, we're left wondering, why you are dead?

You left no note, no way to understand.

Your final goodbye, No means to an end.

I often look back at the life you once lived,

Internally struggling with what you actually did.

The destruction of someone as beautiful as you,

by your own hand, I wish it wasn't true.

You may not have been in a clear state of mind,

But the last couple years I heard you were so kind.

Helping out others, now that's the brother I knew.

I just wish that someone, could have helped you.

It's not anyone's fault, I've learned that these last few years.

but that doesn't mean I'm not left without any fears.

I still sit with some guilt, over your death.

I'm sure that will be with me until my last breath.

Until we meet again,

my little scrappy doo.

I'll see you in my dreams,

if it's just to have one more moment with you.

In suicides, the majority of the time, there is no note. No explanation, no goodbyes. They are just ..... gone. Death is hard to process in general, but grieving through a suicide loss has pushed my own Mental Health close to the edge. May is Mental Health Awareness, lets end the silence and stop the stigma!
